The University of Texas has launched a project to integrate sports data and support decision-making across 21 sports.

The University of Texas at Austin has announced the launch of the Bevo Lab project, an AI-powered data analysis initiative aimed at enhancing coaches' and sports staff's access to information and data-driven decision-making for athletes, according to the specialized sports economics platform.

As reported by the Houston Chronicle, the project consolidates sports data within an integrated platform called Bevo Lakehouse. Google contributes AI technology, cloud services, and the Gemini system, while Dell provides processing power and SHI supplies technology infrastructure.

Initially, the project will focus on college American football, as well as men's and women's basketball teams. Potential applications include performance analysis, athlete recruitment, transfer decisions, and athlete development. The university has emphasized that the system is designed to support, not replace, coaches' decision-making or dictate game tactics.
